Question by Maria Wells: Is it tacky to do a bridal registry when renewing vows?
My husband and I have been married for a little over 4 years, and are planning to renew our vows on our 5 year anniversary. We never had a real wedding in the beginning, but have a few family members who sent us gifts anyway. Would it be rude to sign up for a Bridal Registry for the ceremony? I say it would be tacky, but I have some friends saying it’s totally acceptable.

Please advise!!!
Thanks!

Yes, it would be tacky. Is getting presents the purpose of renewing your vows?

You are right and your friends are wrong. It would be like saying, “We’ve been married for five years but we want more wedding presents!” Ew.
